Staffordshire University launched its graduate internship

16 February 2012

Staffordshire University launched its graduate internship scheme on 1st February, at the Ashley Conference Centre on its Stoke site.  The event was attended by over 100 graduates seeking internships and was opened by Paul Richards, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University.

Following the success of the previous two paid graduate internship schemes, Staffordshire University has now launched this latest new scheme for West Midlands employers to continue to help tackle the effect of the economic downturn on the region’s employers and graduates.  The scheme gives employers the opportunity to enlist the knowledge and expertise of a local graduate for a period of six weeks to help support or develop any area of their business.

Employers will receive funding of £1000 from the University, to which they would add £540 and run the graduate through their payroll at £256.66 per week for six weeks full-time or pro-rata.

If you are interested in taking up this opportunity, you can see more details and download application forms at www.staffs.ac.uk/internships

Alternatively, employers can find their own graduate and still receive the funding.
